I don’t know about you, but since Spain went into lockdown I’ve felt this odd, but pleasant, sense of urgency.
A clear calling to focus on what matters most, right now.
That’s why I made the IP2Profit system, because it seemed important to give entrepreneurs a way to shift into online offerings and sell through online channels, if right now they’re unable to go and deliver their work, or meet clients face to face.
But, I’ve also seen myself struggling a bit to keep my other projects moving forward.
So this week, I’ve experimented with a ‘virtual checkin’, to keep my head on straight.
It’s very simple, only takes a minute, and it might help you too.
In fact, to make it effortless, I set up a google form, which asks:
How are feeling at the moment? Rate 1 to 5
How do you feel about your progress yesterday? Rate 1 to 5
What are you working on?
What’s most important right now?
What are your goals for today – what would you like to get DONE?
Each day I get a prompt to fill out the questions, the answers show up in my todo app, and so each day I have a trigger to help me focus, and a full-day reminder of what to actually focus on.
Note: keep it simple and short: for each of the three ‘what’ questions, I’d say enter no more than three items for each.
Maybe it’s odd, to send myself to a daily questionnaire. But hey, it’s awesome because it’s like having a 5-minute checkin with a virtual CEO. And, in fact, it’s surprisingly nice!
So if in this current crazy situation you find yourself flailing in a Kermit-like fashion, maybe give it a try.
And if you want to use a form but don’t want to bother setting it up, let me know and I’ll share a copy for you to use.
