Gee but it’s great to be back home. Ireland was awesome, if cold – but it’s uncanny how smelling the air when I land in Spain just tells me ‘home’.
Anyway, here’s something to help you avoid getting suckered:
I’ve never had much affection for fashion.
The weirdest habits, diets and dresses are being flogged as if it’s really cool.
When in reality, some of the diets can kill you, (which seems to be true for a number of the dresses too), and as for habits:
How do you rationalise an entire generation glued to the TV screen, guzzling reality shows and media-spun lies?
Oh wait – it’s really fashionable to follow the Kardashians.
It’s apparently also quite normal these days for grown men to spend all their free time playing wargames on consoles.
Um… grow up a little, maybe?
I’m not surprised though: whether it’s society or commerce: it’s incredibly easy to influence and manipulate.
To get people to buy things they don’t need, wear things that make them look silly, or watch things that makes them – demonstrably – dumb.
We see it around us every day.
Same thing happens in marketing: Some badass marketing guru comes out with some new-fangled ‘miracle solution’, some set-it-and-forget-it tactic, and boom: the gullible flock and much money is made.
While in the meantime, smart folk like you and I know that you don’t need anything new, because marketing is still the same as it has always been:
A method to put yourself in front of the right people, make a solid case for what you have to offer, and asking if folk want it or not.
Translated: Drive traffic to your site, get people on a list, and send them a fun, simple email a day.
It’s all you need to do.
Myself and my clients, we’re having a ball: we give ourselves therapy, our readers fun and helpful updates, and time and time again, another sale comes in .
No fad, no manipulation, no sly tactics: just simple, social, humane communications.
Email marketing works yo.
You should try it. Honestly.
Meanwhile, if you have traffic coming to your site but it just ain’t converting, there’s probably something amiss in your landing or salespage copy.
In which case your solution consists of clicking the link, sending me your draft copy, after which I’ll send you back a fully stellarised rewrite of it.
Not cheap, but oh so effective for converting more traffic into buyers…
