Stuck in a Rut? Do This and You WILL Get Out of It…

You know that feeling, where it seems like you life and/or your business is like one big Groundhog Day?

(I’m talking about the film with Bill Murray, where he relives the same day over and over and over again, until he gets it right and life continues).

I guess we all experience it at some point.

That no matter what we do, we just can’t seem to get out of the rut we’re in.

AGAIN a micromanaging client.

Yet another inconsiderate dimwit telling you that he wants your work, except it’s not worth as much as you’re asking.

Not again, a buyer who assures you they’ll come in and buy the piece but then all you hear is crickets.

Oh come on, again you caved in and gave someone a 50% discount because you’re afraid to say no?

When will this end – yet another show where everybody raves about your work, but only with  their voices and not with their wallets.

In my case?

Martin please – when you give a client a delivery date, that’s a deadline and you got to meet it – except Martin once again went over the deadline.

(Part of the reason I gave up copywriting – I’m just not made for doing client work).

I’m sure you’ve got your own examples of being stuck, and here’s how you can get unstuck:

Make different decisions.

As my abbot used to say:

“Choices, choices – life is made up out of choices”

What you choose matters and you know it.

But for some reason, we very easily keep making the same choices.

And if we choose the same thing, we’ll get the same thing.

Or, as Albert Einstein supposedly said:

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results”.

Not that I’m calling you insane though – I believe this ‘same choice again and again’ is simply part of the human condition.

Even a terrible situation can become a comfort zone, for no other reason than that it’s predictable.

But what’s also part of the human condition is waking up and getting wise to how you can alter the results you get by changing what you choose.

And so, if you want different results, you’ll need to start at the root: the choices you make.

Change those, and you’ll logically start seeing different results.

There can be no other way: different choices MUST bring different results.

And, making different choices can’t not get you different results.

Want help with changing you choices, and making different ones?

Then talk to me.

Or not – the choice is yours…

Cheers,

Martin
